In order to honour deserving entrepreneurs and encourage upcoming talent, MCCIA has instituted the GS Parkhe Industrial Merit Award, Hari Malini Joshi Award and the Ramabai Joshi Award.

The Mahratta Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture (MCCIA) has invited applications from entrepreneurs for the different prestigious awards, by April 10 this year.
In order to honour deserving entrepreneurs and encourage upcoming talent, MCCIA has instituted the GS Parkhe Industrial Merit Award, Hari Malini Joshi Award and the Ramabai Joshi Award.
The GS Parkhe award has been initiated to encourage innovation and new product development. The Hari Malini Joshi Award has been announced to recognise talent in new product and design, and the Ramabai Joshi Award is for women entrepreneurs in the field of products and appliances useful for domestic purposes.
To encourage young entrepreneurs and instil a sense of giving back to society what society has given to them, the MCCIA has announced the BG Deshmukh IAS Award for corporate social responsibility (CSR).
MCCIA executive director general, Anant Sardeshmukh said small, medium and large-scale enterprises, who have carried out CSR activities in the field of education, health & hygiene, environment, safety, conservation of energy, water, waste management, working with the handicapped or any other social field are eligible to apply.
Companies can also nominate units which have contributed immensely to CSR.
To encourage environmental pollution control methods in industries across Maharashtra, the chamber will host the Dr RJ Rathi Award function in May 2011. The award has been instituted by Dr RJ Rathi Charity Trust and administered by MCCIA.
Small, medium or large-scale units operating in industries, including chemicals, sugar, distilleries, drugs, pharmaceuticals, paints, fertilisers, paper, leather, food processing, dairies, engineering, automobile, electrical & electronic and service industries are eligible to apply for the award.
