The activists of the Maharashtra Navnirman Vidyarthi Sena (MNVS) sat for more than an hour beating drums in front of the office of the Deputy Director of Education here.

Summit Khambekar of the outfit said, "The CET for the teachers was conducted in August 2008 and since then the department had not conducted any CET."

"We also demand that all the vacant posts of the `Shikshan Sevaks be filled soon." The unemployed D Ed youths should be given Rs2,000 as stipend per month, he said.
