Maharashtra governor SC Jamir today greeted the people of the state on New Year and appealed to them to strive for building a progressive and egalitarian society.
In a message here, Jamir said the dawn of New Year brings with it joy and hope. "It presents an opportunity to each one of us to leave the past behind and make a fresh beginning."
The governor asked the people to commit themselves to work for building a strong, peaceful, progressive and egalitarian society while welcoming 2010 with traditional enthusiasm.
