Maharashtra farmers to meet Shivraj Patil in Jaipur on Saturday

A delegation of farmers from Maharashtra will be meeting the Governor of Punjab and Rajasthan and the Chairman of the Committee of Governors Shivraj Patil in Jaipur tomorrow on the issue of rain-fed farming.

"Patil, who was appointed by the President to head the panel on rain-fed farming, has called us for a meeting," BJP MLC Pasha Patel, who is leading the delegation, told reporters here today.

"We will apprise him of the issues faced by farmers in Maharashtra who are dependent on rains," Shetkari Sanghatna leader Vijay Jawandhiya, who is part of the team, said.
