The proceedings in the state assembly were rushed through without the members from the opposition parties who preferred to boycott the house.

The ruling parties decided not to discuss important issues like budget without the opposition. The house was adjourned for the day soon after the calling attentions were discussed.

Before the adjournment, a meeting between ruling and opposition parties failed to arrive at any conclusion.

After the consent from the speaker the question raised by the opposition members in the written form during the question hour were discussed by treasury benches.

After the calling attentions were discussed in the house, the members from treasury benches grilled their own ministers on certain issues.

Parliamentary affairs minister Harshavardhan Patil later told the reporters that the ruling parties have decided not to discuss the budget-related issue in the absence of the opposition parties.

“We don’t want to push through the budget related business without the participation of the opposition. It would be unprecedented,” he said.
