Maha govt to set up forensic laboratories in Pune, Marathwada

As part of its efforts to expedite investigation of criminal cases, Maharashtra government will set up regional forensic laboratories in Pune and Aurangabad divisions.

Home minister RR Patil today issued directives to formulate a proposal regarding setting up of regional laboratories in Kolhapur and Latur or Nanded in Marathwada.

Patil said the need of the hour was to expedite investigations of terror related activities.

Last year, the forensic science laboratory contributed reports in 99,939 criminal cases.
