Mumbai: With government formation in Maharashtra being delayed, governor SC Jamir has called caretaker chief minister Ashok Chavan and deputy chief minister Chhagan Bhujbal for talks.

"The governor will be meeting Chavan first, followed by a separate meeting with Bhujbal to discuss the issue of government formation," a Raj Bhavan spokesperson said.

Assembly election results were announced on October 22, but the new government is yet to be sworn in.

The delay in formation of the government is being attributed to wrangling between Congress and NCP on the issue of portfolio allocation.
