Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) will take the custody of a suspected Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist, arrested by Delhi Police, to interrogate him in the 2006 Aurangabad arms haul case, a senior official said today.

"Mohammad Aslam could be involved in several terror activities, including the 2006 Aurangabad arms haul case. Our team questioned him in Delhi and we suspect his role in the arms haul case," ATS Additional Police Commissioner Parambir
Singh said here.

"We will take his custody, but things will be clear only after a detailed interrogation," he added.

On August 25, Delhi Police arrested Aslam alias Salim an hour before he was to board the Nanded-bound Sachkhand Express. According to the police, he was carrying four detonators, two timers and two kg explosive chemicals.

Delhi Police had claimed that Aslam was headed to Aurangabad, in central Maharashtra, to hand over the explosives to two men believed to be part of a terror module.

In May 2006, Maharashtra Police had seized a huge cache of weapons and explosives at Aurangabad and arrested three persons.
