Lokhandwala woman loses control of car, injures 2

The vehicle careened to the other side of the road, ramming into the car, a motorcycle and a parked autorickshaw.

A 25-year-old model Aparna Sharma, a Lokhandwala resident, was arrested for allegedly driving in a rash and negligence manner due to which she lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a Honda city.

The couple in the car sustained minor injuries. The incident took place on Saturday night at Lokhandwala area around 1am and she was granted bail on cash Rs10,000.

The police said Sharma was driving her Maruti SX4. As she was speeding, she lost control of the vehicle near Libas hotel and first hit the divider. The vehicle careened to the other side of the road, ramming into the car, a motorcycle and a parked autorickshaw.

“A couple in the Honda city sustained minor injuries. The passersby immediately informed the police,” said S More, assistant police inspector of the Oshiwara police station.  
“We arrested Sharma under sections of the Indian Penal Code 279 (rash driving or riding on a public way), 427 (mischief causing damage) and 337 (causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others,” said More.
