Lila Poonawalla announces PG scholarships

The Lila Poonawalla Foundation is all set to complete awarding 1,000 scholarships to post-graduate (PG) girl students this year, since its inception. The foundation acts like a mentor to girl students who are selected for the scholarship by founder-director of the foundation, Lila Poonawalla.

Poonawalla said about 100 scholarships will be awarded to post-graduate girl students, out of which 15 will be overseas scholarships and 30 will be given to special category students whose families have incomes of less than Rs2 lakh per year.
Students from any stream (electronics, dance, computers, science) can apply for the scholarship by May 28. The cost structure for the scholarship depends on the course a student takes up.

The application forms for post-graduation studies in India and
abroad are made available at the foundation’s office at Akshay Centre, first floor, Thergaon. Those interested can contact the office between 9 am and 4 pm. Students can call 66302611 or email vidya@lilapoonawallafoundation.com.

Last year, the 16-year-old foundation started giving scholarships to under-graduate students and 52 students were selected. The students were selected on the basis of their academic performance, family and economic backgrounds and interviews.
