With the Osho Commune International (Osho International Meditation Resort) and Chabad House located on North Main Road, and with Hotel Taj Blue Diamond situated close by, the lush green Koregaon Park drew international tourists in 1970-1980.

However, the area that kept Pune on international tourism map, has gone out of bounds for tourists ever since the German Bakery blast on February 13, 2010. One of the long-term effects of the blast was restriction on entry of visitors in various sensitive parts of Koregaon Park. So much so that the Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) has dropped the entire area from its Pune Darshan route. Pune Darshan service guide Raichand Jagtap said, “The decision to drop Koregaon Park area was taken recently. Now, after visiting the tribal museum, we directly go to Aga Khan Palace on Ahmednagar Road.”
