Kingfisher Airlines today cancelled its Lucknow-bound flight from Mumbai due to bad weather conditions there. The private air carrier, however, would operate an additional service for Lucknow tomorrow to accommodate the backlog, the airline said.
"The Mumbai-Lucknow flight had to be cancelled because of bad weather at Luncknow. The flight was originally scheduled to take off at 4.45 pm but it was re-scheduled to 5.30 pm," Kingfisher Airlines spokesperson told PTI here tonight. The flight, however, was delayed further due to the congestion at Mumbai airport, the spokesperson said.
"By the time flight could take off from Mumbai, the weather in Lucknow had deteriorated and it made no sense to take off from Mumbai. The flight was therefore cancelled," he said.
The airline would now operate an additional flight tomorrow, the spokesperson said adding,"weather-related disruptions are beyond our control."
