Kasab stuffs cotton in his ears to escape Nikam's comments

Pakistani gunman Ajmal Kasab, who today came in the court with his ears 'plugged' with a piece of cotton, told the judge that he did so as he did not want to be "disturbed" by prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam's comments.

Kasab, who stands in the witness box while the court is recording his final statement, today in a lighter vein removed a cotton piece from his right ear and told the court he is using it so that he is not disturbed by Nikam's constant comments.

"Nikam sir kuch na kuch bolte rehte hain...isiliye yeh aaj dalke aaya hoon kaan main...(Nikam sir keeps commenting which is why I have used this cotton today)," Kasab told the court with a smile on his face.

The gunman had yesterday claimed Nikam used to keep on saying something in between when the court was recording his statement, prompting him to look behind.

Special judge ML Tahaliyani then asked Kasab to come out of the witness box and enter the dock in the opposite side and give his statement.

Kasab, who usually smiles when the court is recording his statement, was today seen frowning on several occasions.

The court is recording Kasab's final statement on the evidence adduced by the prosecution against him in the 26/11 terror attacks.
