Jyotirmoy Dey's family wants death for killers

The family members of J Dey on Friday demanded that capital punishment be given to his killers. After the news of Vora’s arrest reached her, Dey’s mother Bina said the family is “satisfied” by the police investigations into the killing so far.

She said it was shocking how a professional colleague could stoop to such a level and make her son vulnerable to killers. “How can a woman do this?” wondered a distraught Bina. The 75-year-old mother, who is in a state of shock following the arrest, said that her son was brutally killed and everyone behind the gruesome act should be punished with equal harshness. “If there was any kind of professional rivalry, my son would have been more than happy to give that up. Why was he killed for it?” she lamented. “Whatever happens now, my son is gone forever,” Dey said with a choked voice.

Expressing satisfaction over the police investigations, Bina said that justice would be done after the courts give the culprits the maximum punishment. Among other things, Vora has been accused of providing Dey’s cell and bike numbers, his office and residential addresses and other vital information to underworld don Chhota Rajan.

A few days ago, Chhota Rajan owned up responsibility for Dey’s killing and also expressed regrets over it, while speaking to a TV channel. J Dey was shot dead by Chhota Rajan gang members at Powai on July 11.
