There was no place to find a foothold at the Vaikunth crematorium on Saturday afternoon, as hundreds of fans and followers crowded the premises to get a final glimpse of the mortal remains of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena MLA Ramesh Wanjale, who died on Friday night.
Wanjale's body was carried in a truck from his home in Wadgaon Dhayari to the Vaikunth crematorium. The procession took over five hours to reach Vaikunth. When the hearse, decorated with white flowers, reached Vaikunth, the party workers cries 'Ramesh Bhau Wanjale Amar Rahe'.
Prominent leaders of different political parties offered their homage to the leader including minister of cooperation and parliamentary affairs Harshawardhan Patil, state forest minister Patangrao Kadam, BJP MP and former chief minister of state Gopinath Munde, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray, Dilip Walse Patil, honourable Speaker of Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, Shiv Sena spokesperson Neelam Gorhe, MLA Girish Bapat, MLA Ashok Pawar, Mahadev Babar and other dignitaries.
