Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan was cornered in the state assembly on Tuesday by the Opposition on the irregularities in Pataliputra society housing IAS officers. Members of the treasury and the opposition benches raised slogans, alleging that the chief minister was shielding the IAS officers.
Leader of opposition Eknath Khadse said this was another Adarsh scam. “The chief secretary has claimed that no illegal construction has taken place in the society, while the police have reported about the anomalies in construction,” he said. Chavan said the economic offence wing has been probing the irregularities. He added that the Mumbai police commissioner was probing the irregularities by the police officers.
