To improve the quality of government aided schools in the city, the state education department has announced grants worth nearly Rs36 crores for 49 municipal schools.

To improve the quality of government aided schools in the city, the state education department has announced grants worth nearly Rs36 crores for 49 municipal schools. This move comes with the marginal increase in allocation of funds for the school education sector.
In a government resolution dated April 20, the department increased the grant amount to be distributed among the secondary sections of 49 municipal schools.
Under the Right of children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, the government is seeking to develop government aided schools so as to increase the number of schools that can provide free education.
“We have increased the budget for grants develop such schools,” said a senior education official.
