A 31-year-old man committed suicide by hanging himself in his residence at Goregoan (West) on Saturday night. It is suspected that he had lost a huge amount of money in gambling, allegedly on the IPL.

The deceased, Arun Nadar, was a resident of Galaxy Classic building in Mitha Nagar, Goregaon (West). He did not leave a suicide note.

Police investigations have revealed that he was a habitual gambler and incurred heavy losses. This, they suspect, could have led him to commit suicide. “We suspect that he must have put a lot of money on IPL matches and lost,” said a police officer.

Nadar was working in a private company. “We have registered a case of accidental death. further investigation is on,” added the officer.
