Commuters at Goregaon complained of inconvenience after a film shoot triggered chaos at the station with private security guards stopping commuters from getting on to the platform to catch their regular morning train to Churchgate.

“There was some film shooting on at Goregaon station and the private guards posted by the shooting unit created ruckus and stopped commuters from getting onto the platform on Monday,” a commuter, Rajesh Joshi said.

“The semi-fast train comes on platform number 4 and the shooting was on at platform number 5. When commuters rushed to the bridge to catch the approaching train, the guards stopped them, after which they complained to
the local station master about it,” he added. “The station master was quite prompt in his response and attended to the complaint and allowed commuters on the bridge,” he said.

Members of the Goregaon-Malad passenger association said that they will also be lodging a formal complaint about the incident so that such incidents do not repeat.

“The shooting was on at the station throughout the day and the incident happened around 11.30am. We know that it is a way of generating income for the railways and our only request is that it should not inconvenience commuters. As it is, hawkers and other such elements have taken lots of space on foot over-bridges,” another commuter Sarika Kamath added.

Railway officials said they will look into the matter.
