Puja Mishra is still admitted at VN Desai Hospital and Avadhesh Mishra is still making rounds at the Vakola police station.

The couple's son Ayushman, one amongst the twins Puja delivered on August 14, was kidnapped from the suburban civic hospital on Friday at about 11am.

Police had started the manhunt soon after, but had met with no success till late Saturday evening.

However, now the police believe there are two accused and not one as it was assumed earlier. Vakola Police finally released the CCTV grab which shows the suspected burqa-clad woman leaving the hospital.

Accompanying her is the new accused's picture, a man who was reportedly seen moving around with the suspected woman. “We have released the pictures and have sent them to all the police stations in Mumbai and Thane. We also interrogated two women through the day, but no one has been detained,” said deputy commissioner of police Satyanarayan Choudhary.

While Puja is still coping with depression and weakness, Avadhesh, the father of the twins Ayushman and Kumkum, sounded very hopeful even as he coped with the situation. “The police have assured us that it will surely find the accused and our family will be complete very soon,” said Avadhesh.

The kidnapping has raised questions over lack of concern for the security of patients at civic hospitals. However, the hospital maintained that the kidnapping occurred in the out-patient department. The dean of the hospital,

Shashikant Wadekar, said in his defence that, “The family informed us very late. But as soon as we found out, we started searching for the suspected lady and even closed the gate. But on monitoring the CCTV footage, we realised she had already left the hospital premises. After the unfortunate incident, the need for beefed up security has certainly become the priority.”

Two additional constables, one male and a female, have been posted at the hospital by the police. However, according to police sources, a letter has been sent to the hospital authorities by the police stating that they must make additional security arrangements in the hospital premises.

Meanwhile, Shayama, the grandmother, is still wailing in guilt. “It will be very difficult for me to trust anyone in the future. I just can't believe I failed to understand her real intention and became a medium for my own grandsons kidnap.”

The police have started an information helpline for the public to report sighting any of the accused — 26685236.
