Ex-cop Pradeep Sharma’s jammer removed

The DN Nagar police recently removed the cell phone jammer which was reportedly installed by a former encounter specialist Pradeep Sharma in order to prevent the mobile  usage by visitors in his cabin.

Sharma is currently lodged in Thane jail for allegedly being involved in the fake encounter case of gangster Ramnarayan Gupta alias Lakkhan Bhaiya.

Sharma who has over 100 encounters to his credit was arrested along with several other policemen and civilians by a Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed at the instance of high court. 

According to the sources, when Sharma was posted at DN Nagar police station in 2006, he had then reportedly installed cell phone jammer near his cabin.

“As we were facing difficulties in communicating if we happen to move around in the area near the jammer. Most of the time we had to go outside the police station room to make a call,” said a police official. The sources within the police said that jammer was not removed even after Sharma was transferred and later suspended in the fake encounter case.
