Engineer killed in BKC accident

Saurab Das, an engineer working with Wipro, was killed on Friday morning after a glass ceiling of 18-storey Creasy Zone building at Bandra Kurla Complex fell on him. Another engineer Kaustub Malik sustained head injuries and is fighting for survival at a private hospital.

According to the police, construction work was going on in an office on one of the top floors. Witnesses told the police that the duo had gone outside for a tea break when a huge glass sheet from a higher floor fell on them. The two were rushed to a hospital in Bandra by office-goers and colleagues. The police have registered a case of negligence against the contractor.

Officials said the two were recently shifted to the city from Kolkata. The police have learnt that the wife of the deceased is pregnant with their first child.
