The Wadhwa developer, which has got the clearance to build a 73-metre tall building, will be constructing the highrise on a 32,000 sq mt plot (now admeasuring 66,000 sq mt as he has purchased additional FSI). He bought it two years ago at an astronomical rate of Rs46,000 a sq ft. The developer had initially planned to build a unique egg-shaped office building, but scrapped the plan as his finances took a hit during the recession.
“It would have cost me Rs9,000 a sq ft to build the egg-shaped building. So, I opted for this standard design, which will cost Rs3,500 a sq ft. The project cost for the new building is Rs375 crore,” said Vijay Wadhwa, managing director of the company. He, too, was eager for the building height to be raised to 90 metres, he said.
