Students who passed their Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination this year flocked to their schools on Monday as the mark sheets were distributed.

This year, the result of the SSC examination was announced online on June 17. The centralised admission process for admission to junior colleges would begin from Tuesday.

Many students were excited to have a first look at the colourful mark sheets. Some schools had made special arrangements to felicitate meritorious students. Parents, teachers and students were seen exchanging pleasantries and discussing admission details.

Modern High School wore a festive look as students celebrated their success. "We are extremely happy with the results and our girls have made us proud,'' said Aarti Gogte, a teacher of the school.

Unlike the HSC results, many students were accompanied by their parents who came to bid a final goodbye to the institutions that their wards grew up in. "After spending almost 10 years in this environment, it's a mixed feeling to finally leave the school,'' said Aditya Deshpande who scored 85%.

Students believed that coming to school and discussing the results with the friends was an extraordinary experience even when the result was known. "To be here with friends and finally receive a confirmation of your performance is definitely a different feeling,'' said Gayatri Borawake who scored 80%.
Devesh Bhargude of New English School, Ramanbaug couldn't stop posing for the shutterbugs. Four students of the school scored perfect 100% when calculated with the additional marks given to sports candidates. The cheers of students and the soft shehnai tunes filled the air around the school campus.

"The excitement and anxiety of starting a new journey outside the safe environment of the school as a parent is difficult to express,'' said Pranav Patel, whose son scored 90%.
