The Central Railway has made available a doctor on running train for the first time for the benefit of passengers.
"A doctor will be available on the non-stop Nagpur-Mumbai-Nagpur Duranto Express for passengers who wish to avail benefits in case of some illness," a release from Nagpur division of Central Railway said today.
Tri-weekly Train number 2290 Nagpur-Mumbai Duranto leaves on every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8.25pm and arrives at Mumbai at 7.55am next day.
Similarly, 2289 Mumbai-Nagpur Duranto departs every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday at 8.15 pm and reaches here next day at 7.45 am.
Since the train does not stop at any station, the Railways have provided a doctor on running train along with a para-medical staff and equipped with necessary medicines.
Doctor on duty will be available on berth number one and three of Two Tier cum Three Tier AC coach number AB/1.
Train superintendent, train ticket examiner (TTE) and coach attendant will help the indisposed passenger to reach the doctor, the released added.
