DNA EDUSCOPE gives city teens right tools to make career choices

The education fair has interactive sessions with various speakers, and stalls from over 30 institutes showcasing the best management and vocational education courses.

Thousands of youngsters looking for promising careers and dream jobs thronged the DNA EDUSCOPE, on day one of the career fair organised at Ravindra Natya Mandir, Dadar, Mumbai on Saturday. Every student walked out with useful information related to the careers they want to pursue.

With interactive sessions with various speakers, and stalls from over 30 institutes showcasing the best management and vocational education courses, EDUSCOPE, the two day seminar, shed light on the vast scope for careers off the beaten track.
Chief guest Dr RS Hande, director, Board of College and University Development (BCUD), Mumbai University, said, “Choose a career based on your aptitude and pursue it with the right attitude. Keep more than one career option. If do not get one, you can pursue another.”

Outlining the scope for unconventional  careers in fields such as animation, hospitality, media and entertainment, travel and tourism, Sanjay Muthal, MD, Nugrid Solutions, said, “Students should ensure that they opt for an institute, which can be the launch pad for a career that will not only take off rapidly but also keep rising sharply.” Shriya Shenoy said, “I was confused whether I should opt for an MBA with Human Resources or a post graduation in human resources. The counselling session gave me a perspective on which I should plan my career.”
The fair also educated parents in helping their wards take course decisions with an eye on the future.

Muneer Haider, who is with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) was there with his two boys and gave a positive feedback, “It helped my children realise how their interests should match their career.”
Jaikumari Trivedi, a parent, suggested that there should be stalls for government colleges and “more emphasis should be laid on Class IX students, because it builds the foundation for classes X and XII.”
