Industry minister Narayan Rane's son Nitesh today demanded to cut the illegal water connection given to a local company, run by ayor Shraddha Jadhav's husband and said that his NGO will take its own course if the BMC fails to initiate action within 48 hours.

Swabhiman Sanghatana, an NGO run by Nitesh, has alleged that Manohar Mandap Decorators in Parel, (Central Mumbai) run by Sridhar Jadhav, has an illegal water connection and hence it should be disconnected.

"We have written a letter to the local ward office asking them to disconnect the illegal water connection within 48 hours or else Swabhiman Sanghatana will take action against the company," Nitesh told reporters here.

"It is very shameful to know that the mayor, who is the first citizen of Mumbai, herself does not follow the rules and regulations. She should resign from her post," he demanded.

Swabhiman Sanghatana, which completed a year fighting water issues, today held a rally from Metro Cinema to Azad Maidan, where Nitesh paid tribute to Viral Dholakia, one of the members of the organisation, who lost his life last year during a protest against the water crisis in the city.
