The anti-corruption unit of the Central Bureau of Investigations (CBI) has registered a criminal case under the Prevention of Corruption Act against Amod Sharma, ex-director in Flight Services and V Shrikrishna, former director of Material Air India.
The two were booked allegedly for financial irregularities in the purchase of Potable Entertainment Appliances from private firms and causing loss to the government exchequer.
According to the CBI, a search was conducted on Thursday and Friday at 13 places in Mumbai and Delhi in the office and residential premises of the accused persons.
At least seven property documents in the name of Sharma and three properties in the name of Shrikrishna have been seized.
During the search, Sharma was found in possession of gold ornaments worth Rs9 lakh and a bank balance of Rs17.35 lakh. “The case is still under investigation,” a CBI officer said.
