Assistant Commissioner of police (ACP) Anil Mahabole’s plea of anticipatory bail was rejected by the session’s court on Thursday saying that the investigation is at a very primary stage. An FIR was registered against Mahabole at Azad Maidan police station after a woman from Kurla alleged that he had raped her.

The complainant has alleged that Mahabole used to rape her after drugging her. Mahabole moved an anticipatory bail application before the sessions court on Wednesday. In his anticipatory bail application, Mahabole claimed that he has been falsely implicated.

Mahabole chose to remain absent during the hearing and her advocate, Rohini Wagh, asked for ‘in-camera’ hearing. The prosecution agreed to the application, after which the hearing of the bail took place in-camera. Mahabole is now going to move to high court on Friday to apply for the anticipatory bail.
