A local court Friday directed the Lavasa Corporation, promoters of the Lavasa hill city in Pune, to submit certain documents related to the project.

Chief Judicial Magistrate NT Ghadge also asked lawyers representing the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB), to submit more documents in the case.

"The court today directed us to file a copy of the no objection certificate given to us in 2004," Lavasa Corporation lawyer Advocate P Narayan told reporters here.

Meanwhile, Dnyaneshwar Shedge, a farmer from Bhugaon, a small village near Lavasa, requested the court to make him a witness in the case.

Shedge's lawyer S D Ratnaparakhi told the court that his client has got some important documents, which could be of help in the case.

Upon this, the CJM said the court is going through the documents and would take a decision once the scrutiny is over.

The next hearing in the case is scheduled on November 14.

The Union Environment Ministry had on Wednesday last given the nod for the first phase of the ambitious project, which is embroiled in a controversy over violation of environment protection norms.

The Ministry's decision came after the Maharashtra government had filed a case against Lavasa promoters for alleged violations of Environment Protection Act (EPA).

Filing of the case under the EPA was one of the key pre-conditions set by the Environment Ministry for granting clearance to the first phase of the project.
