Cops crack murder case in one day

Officers of the Saki Naka police station solved the murder of a man, who was killed on Sunday morning, in a day.

According to the police, Shiv Prasad Shahu’s brother-in-law Sitaram Shahu hit him on the head with a big stone as he suspected him of having an affair with a woman.

The Shahus worked as watchmen at Akruti Orchid Park. Sitaram suspected Shiv Prasad of having an affair with a sweeper in the complex.

“Shahu was sleeping when Sitaram killed him in a fit of anger around 3am on Sunday,” senior inspector S Dhanedhar said.Police had detained Shiv Prasad’s son and labourers from the adjacent construction site. “We began to suspect Sitaram when Shiv Prasad’s son told us about the former inquiring about him at 5am,” said Dhanedhar. “Sitaram finally confessed to the murder.”

Sitaram was produced in the Andheri court on Monday and remanded in police custody till December 14.
