Cops arrest Shiv Sena activist

Uploading a defaced photograph of deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar landed the chief of information technology cell of Shiv Sena in the Pune police cyber crime cell’s net on Tuesday.

Amit Chandrakant Jadhav (27) of Mumbai was arrested under the Information Technology Act, 2000.

Jadhav uploaded Pawar’s blackened photo and defamatory language against him on his Facebook profile.

Cyber crime cell police inspector Sangeeta Alfonso produced Jadhav before the judicial magistrate first class KP Jain Desarda for seeking three-day police custody, but the court remanded him in magisterial custody.

After Jadhav though his lawyer Rahul Dindodkar moved a bail application, the court released him on Rs15,000 personal bond.
