The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) on Sunday declared the results of first ever Common Management Admission Test (CMAT). While a Delhi candidate topped the results with the score of 327/400, an engineer from Mumbai has made the city proud by securing the second position.

The CMAT results were declared on the official website in the midnight of March 10. The result gives information about the candidate’s score and all India rank (AIR). The individual CMAT scorecards containing the sectional cutoffs in addition to the total marks and AIR are set to be released on March 15, 2012. Vijay Kalyan Jha from New Delhi has topped the first edition of CMAT.

Sujitkumar Virendranath from Mumbai and Kushagra Rajul Rahul from Rajkot have secured second and third rank, respectively.

Among the top 10 candidates, five are from Mumbai. However, there is not a single female candidate in the top 11. “The entire examination went of smoothly. Total three-hour time was given to solve 100 questions. Many students could finish the test real fast. There were erroneous questions in the test. Some questions were just picked from the question bank available for GMAT.  With the questions’ quality like this, they are just putting students’ career at stake,” Jha said.

AICTE chairman Dr SS Mantha has denied any errors in the question sets. “The experts’ committee has reviewed the questions and there were no such findings. Only in one question set, the given options were listed as a, b, c, e instead of a, b, c, d. those who appeared for this question set have all been given marks,” Mantha said.
