CIDCO chairman Nakul Patil passes away

Patil complained of restlessness last night and was admitted to a hospital at Dombivili. As his condition deteriorated, he was shifted to Jupiter hospital in Thane, where he passed away in the early hours.

City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) chairman and former Maharashtra minister Nakul Patil died of a heart attack here this morning.

He was 75 and is survived by wife and two children. Patil complained of restlessness last night and was admitted to a hospital at Dombivili.

As his condition deteriorated, he was shifted to Jupiter hospital in Thane, where he passed away in the early hours.

Originally a congress leader, Patil, a former MLA,
later joined NCP. He was twice appointed the chairman of CIDCO, a Maharashtra government urban development agency.

An advocate by profession, Patil was a cabinet
minister in late 1980s. He unsuccessfully contested the Thane Lok Sabha seat in 1999.

Patil was given a state funeral which was attended by several prominent personalities and a large number of locals.
