The police on Friday said there was no need to scrutinise the CCTV footage over actor Shah Rukh Khan’s brawl at Wankhede stadium to verify  complaint of Vikas Dalvi, a security guard with Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA), as it a non-cognizable complaint.

"We have recorded all the statements in the case. We are not going to call Shah Rukh Khan for recording his statement. It is a non cognizable matter and until further notification from the court to investigate the case, the case is more or less closed," said Nisar Tamboli, Mumbai police spokesperson.

Khan and his three bodyguards had allegedly manhandled Dalvi inside Wankhede stadium after the Kolkata Knight Rider and Mumbai India match on Wednesday evening.

Later, Dalvi along with MCA joint secretary, Nitin Dalal, lodged a non-cognizable complaint with the Marine Drive police under section 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 504 (intentional insult with the intent to provoke breach of peace).

Vikas' son, Vaibhav, told a news channel: "My father was abused by Khan. He is not in the right frame of mind to talk to the media and neither are we."

Zunjarrao Gharal, senior police inspector of Marine Drive police station, said they have not recorded anybody else's statement other than Dalvi's and that they had not scrutinised the CCTV footage.
