A petition challenging the construction of a connector (entry and exit point) at the Worli end of the Bandra-Worli Sea Link alleging that it was built without the nod of the Union ministry of environment and forests (MoEF) was on Thursday dismissed by the Bombay high court.

The court observed that an earlier judgment had rejected the petitioners plea, which was also later confirmed by the apex court.

Four residents of the Prateeksha housing society in Worli had moved the HC for the fifth time over the same argument. They alleged that the MSRDC had not sought permission from the MoEF before constructing the connector at the Worli end.

Petitioners’ advocate EH Kotwal said, “Around 45,000 vehicles pass through the area daily. It has become like a gas chamber. The MoEF, in its affidavit, has admitted that having a connector in front of a residential building will cause damage.”

MSRDC advocate KK Singhvi said, “HC has dismissed similar petitions after perusing through the MoEF affidavits.”
