A 12-year-old boy was killed after being hit by a speeding car on Western Express Highway in suburban Bandra, police said today.
The accused identified as Shaktiprasad Jena (35) was arrested and his car was seized, police said.
According to police, the deceased identified as Tamaal Mandal was crossing the road last night when Jena lost control on his car which rammed into Mandal, injuring him seriously.
Mandal was rushed to nearby hospital where he was declared dead, police said adding the accused was arrested for causing death of a person due to reckless driving.
Police were probing if the accused was drunk.
