The Bombay High Court on Wednesday quashed an FIR lodged against an advocate who was found at a rave party in Pune in 2007.

Justice BR Gavai quashed the FIR against Ina Jagad observing that there was no evidence against her to prove that she committed offence under Section 110 of the Bombay Police Act (indecent behaviour). Jagad was arrested along with 300 other youngsters on March 4, 2007. The Pune police had raided a rave party at Donje village in Pune. Around 300 youngsters, including some foreigners, were present.

Seven persons were arrested from the party for selling narcotics like charas, ghanja and heroin. During the raid, the police recovered 109 grams of ganja. All the accused were initially booked under the provisions of the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substance (NDPS) Act. They were also booked under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Bombay Police (BP) Act for indecent behaviour.

In the case of Jagad, no alcohol or drugs was found in chemical analysis of her blood samples, said additional public prosecutor Anil Shitole. On October 4, 2008, the sessions court framed charges against seven accused and discharged nine others.
