Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) will come out with a short film to spread awareness among Mumbaikars against Malaria which has claimed 41 lives in the city since January.
"We are coming up with a two-three minute film on Malaria within a fortnight. It will be screened at cinema halls and on cable TV," BMC executive health officer GT Ambe told PTI here.
"We haven't decided whether any celebrity or well known personality should be roped in or not. Things are on initial stages," Ambe said.
BMC intends to inculcate civic sense through this short film among the public, he said.
"Through this film we intend to create awareness among people on issues like keep surroundings clean, hygienic and free from mosquito breeding," Ambe said.
According to civic health officials, 41 persons have died in Mumbai due to Malaria since January. Altogether 5,36,210 blood samples were taken of which 34,712 tested positive.
Altogether 18 persons have died and 3,751 persons were admitted to various hospitals for Malaria treatment since
July 1.
