These are some of the views that children shared with Tessa Jowell, MP, Minister for the Olympics, Government of UK during a panel discussion on Empowering Children and Youth Through Sport, organised under the 'Catalysts of Change' programme by an NGO Magic Bus.

The Catalysts of Change programme has been designed to provide marginalised children in India a platform to express how empowerment can help bring about a positive change in society around them, Founder and CEO, Magic Bus, Matthew Spacie told reporters here.

The programme, overseen by the International Inspiration Programme (IIP) of the Government of UK, Magic Bus and UNICEF, aims to help these children identify, assess, address the issues faced by them everyday. It also uses sport as a medium to work on their overall development - with the intention of enabling them to realise their true potential, he said.

"In winning the London 2012 Olympics we made a commitment to transform a generation of young people through sport, not just in the UK but around the world through the International Inspiration programme. The programme has been established to honour our commitment," Jowell said.

Jowell, who is the co-founder of the IIP which is being implemented across eight countries including India, said consistency, sustainability and making youth realise their potential through their association with sports were challenges they faced here.

On what India should do in order to win the 2020 Olympic bid, Jowell, who is directly responsible for the delivery of the UK's overall Olympic programme, said,"You have to capture the imagination of the Olympic Committee, like we did by revealing our ambitious programme."
