The nephew of a social crusader Anna Hazare, Vinayak Deshmukh, returned to the Congress.
Deshmukh was active in the party for years and was district president of Youth Congress since 1994. He later joined Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and now returned to his original party after two years.
However, Deshmukh has clarified that his comeback had nothing to do with his uncle’s campaign against the corruption and his decision was purely arrived out of his frustration in NCP. Deshmukh’s come back was announced on Saturday in the presence of Congress state chief Manikrao Thakre, who claimed that the entry had no political connections.
Thakre reiterated that the party was all set to go alone in local self body election slated for early next year.
