After enthralling Shah Rukh Khan and Kareena Kapoor with his performance, R&B singing sensation Akon has now decided dish out a chartbuster for charity. Akon will team up with music composer Aadesh Shrivastava to record a song - Let’s Come Together - to be released worldwide; proceeds of which will go the Mumbai Police Relief Fund.

Akon, who met Aadesh to finalise plans for the song, is currently in Mumbai to record for the SRK, Kareena starrer Ra 1. “It will be a single for which we have teamed up. We are planning to work on many things in the future. The possibility of a future project with Akon can’t be rules out,” Aadesh told DNA. “I have known Akon for a long time. Our song - Let’s Come Together - has a beautiful message as it calls for world peace at a time when everything has been ripped apart by terrorism and politics of hate.”

Aadesh, who has been a composer to several successful Bollywood films, has also previously collaborated for projects with the London Symphony Orchestra. He met the R&B icon at his recording studio late on Wednesday.

“Akon has already recorded the track and it has come out fabulous. We are going to hold discussions about how to plan the release of the song. The song talks about terrorism and how it is destroying human values. It also calls for universal brotherhood. Portion of the proceeds from the song will go for charity,” said Aadesh.

“The proceeds will go to the Mumbai Police Relief Fund. We feel strongly for Mumbai as the city has been the target for terror attacks and has also seen violence in the form of riots. We had to do this for the city and now since Akon is here, we will firm up our plans,” he added.
