A resident of Sangvi, Chandrakant Dattatray Gundgal (55), has moved the Pune district court against the deputy chief minister, Ajit Pawar, his wife Sunetra and 11 others, accusing them of alleged house trespass and criminal intimidation.

In a private complaint lodged on Friday, Gundgal alleged that Pawar, his wife and 11 others had allegedly used his 26 gunthas of land at Ghotawade village in Mulshi taluka of Pune district for digging and making a road with the help of the public works department (PWD).

Gundgal also alleged that Pawar allegedly threatened him with dire consequences if he approached the police or the court.
The court of the first class judicial magistrate, Umeshchandra More, granted permission to admit the case lodged by Gundgal.

The other persons named in the complaint include a corporator, Baburao Dattoba Chandere (49) of Baner, Shivaji Shankarrao Kale (45) of Senapati Bapat Road, Raghunath Nana Tapkir (60), Popat Raghunath Tapkir (45), Shivaji Raghunath(39), all residents of Mulkhed in Mulshi taluka, Ashok Dhanraj Chordia of Senapati Bapat Road, Arjun Vithoba Deokar (45) and real estate agent Vitthal Somaji Godambe (40), both residents of Ghotwade, and Raju Sopan Pawale (40) of Pirangut.

Gundgal has demanded a probe in the case under sections 448 (house trespass), 427 (mischief causing damage to the property), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code, 1860.

Earlier, Gundgal had filed a private suite against Raghunath Nana Tapkir for selling 26 gunthas of land owned by Gundgal.
Gundgal’s lawyer, Ranjit Thite, had alleged that Tapkir told the Pawars to take possession of Gundgal’s land, claiming that the land belonged to him (Tapkir). But in reality the 26 gunthas belonged to Gundgal.

“The Pawar couple encroached upon Gundgal’s 26 gunthas and constructed a wall, a water tank and cut trees and damaged the property,” Thite had alleged.

Gundgal pleaded before the court to make the Pawar couple a party to that case along with Tapkir. The court of civil judge SM Belkar had ordered on April 21 to make Ajit Pawar and his wife party to that case.
