Veteran film heroine and superstar Sadhana Nayyar, who had accused builder Yusuf Lakdawala of threatening to kill her if she doesn’t vacate her Santacruz home, approached the commissioner of police, Sanjeev Dayal, on Saturday.
The actress had lodged a complaint at the Santacruz police station last month, but despite several visits to the police station, the local police had taken no action. “So she has taken up the matter with the Commissioner,” Sadhana’s lawyer, Vibhav Krishna told DNA.
The actress is a tenant on the ground floor of Sangeeta Bungalow in Santacruz where Lakdawala’s relatives live on the second floor. Lakdawala denied threatening the actress. “I would never stoop to harassment,” he said. Commissioner of police Sanjeev Dayal said, “We will take necessary action against those involved in harassing Sadhana.”
The actress claims that Lakdawala wants her out of Sangeeta Bungalow as he wants to redevelop the property. The builder, however, said,“I’ve no stake in that property; it belongs tosinger Asha Bhosle, not to me.”
