The postmortem reports of the 27-year-old Abhijeet Kurne, son of assistant commissioner of police Devendra Sawant, who shot dead his wife Ashwini on Thursday night indicates that he shot himself three hours after he shot his wife.
A police source said that the postmortem of Ashwini’s body shows that she was killed at 2am on Friday, while the postmortem report of Abhijeet’s body indicates that he killed himself at 5am. The postmortem was conducted at JJ hospital.
Police said that Abhijeet shot his wife in the temple from point-blank range. The bullet exited from the other side and was stuck in the pillow.
After that, although three hours later, he pointed the revolver at his head and pulled the trigger. The bullet pierced his head and hit a cupboard.
