55 people caught crossing tracks

Mumbai:
In a special drive against the trespassers at Byculla station on Thursday, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel, in collaboration with ten students with learning disabilities, caught 55 commuters, including a driver of the Bombay High Court judge, two constables of Mumbai police and a retired officer of Mumbai Railway police while crossing the railway tracks.

"Among the offenders, Sanjay Parab is the driver of high court Judge, Ankush Bhandari and Santosh Naikwade are constables attached with the Mumbai police and AD Pathan is retired assistant sub inspector of Mumbai Railway Police. Besides these, we also caught 5 women commuters and four children," said inspector Ajay Sansare attached to the RPF office at Byculla.

The drive began at 7.30 am with the participation of ten students of Citi Academy for Special Education, a special school catering to the needs of children with learning disabilities, at Haji Ali and continued till 11 am.

The offenders were bought to the office of the RPF at Byculla station where they were greeted with roses by students.
The students requested them to use the foot-over bridge and asked them not to cross the tracks as it endangered their lives.
