A 30-year-old man was found dead in a drain at Chandivali in Andheri (East) on Monday morning. According to the police, the deceased, Shrinivas Gawda, was returning home from his work when he slipped into the drain. He died due to the head injuries that he suffered due to the fall.

Gawda resided with his brother in Vile Parle (East) and was working as a waiter in Jaylakshmi hotel in Sakinaka. "On Sunday, while returning home, Gawda slipped and fell into the drain near HDFC Bank, Chandivali. The preliminary investigation revealed that he died due to the injures he received during the fall," said senior police inspector S Dhanadhekar of Sakinaka police station.

"The passersby informed the police. We found a mobile number from Gawda's pocket. We called that person and took Gawda's brother's mobile number from him," said Dhanadhekar.
