Man killed in Ghatkopar, search on for 4 suspects
The Ghatkopar police are on the lookout for four men who slit the throat of Amit Udugude, 26, in the Bhattwadi area on Monday morning.

The police have detained one Prakash Jadhav based on the statement given by the deceased's brother.

Udugude, who worked at a pharmaceutical firm, lived with his brother, Vipul, 24, and maternal uncle, said inspector Rajendra Kothmire.

At 4am, Udugude, who sleeps at the local temple, was walking to his uncle's house when four men attacked him, locals said. Udugude was rushed to Rajawadi Hospital but he was declared dead.

Vipul said: "I used to have arguments with Jadhav and his mother because of the water dripping from their room. After one such argument, Jadhav's mother died and the post-mortem report stated that it was due to a blow on the chest. The police arrested me and seven others, but I got bail. My brother was fighting the case," Vipul said.

Unidentified man found murdered in Lower Parel
The body of an unknown man was found in Lower Parel on Monday morning. The deceased had been murdered and had several fatal injuries.

According to the police, the body was found lying at the railway yard in the workshop at Lower Parel (West) by an RPF constable patrolling the area. The matter was reported to the NM Joshi police.

The police said that the accused had nine fatal injuries on his body, including a deep slit on the throat caused by a sharp weapon. The victim was killed not more than 24 hours before his body was found.

"We did not find any identification papers on him. His t-shirt bore a tag of some Chandan tailor in Bhivandi. We suspect the deceased was a resident of Bhivandi but it is too early to draw conclusions. The body has been sent to Nair Hospital for post-mortem," said Sudhakar Ghagare, senior police inspector of NM Joshi police. The police have registered a case of murder against unidentified person.

Women’s fight claims man’s life in Mankhurd
In an incident that took place at Lalubhai Compound in Mankhurd on Saturday evening, deceased Sandeep Bansode, 29, a labourer was woken up by loud sounds of a washing bat from the flat above. Santosh Wazirkar's wife, had started to wash clothes, an issue over which the two wives been quarrelling since several days. An agitated Bansode went to Wazirkar's house and fought with his wife.

When Wazirkar, who works as a peon in a private firm, came home and heard about the brawl from his wife, he headed straight for Bansode’s home. He dragged Bansode out, repeatedly punching and kicking him, until neighbours intervened.

"Bansode sustained several internal injuries, but refused the several requests by his wife to see a doctor. On Sunday, he fell unconscious and was rushed to Rajawadi hospital, where he was declared dead on admission," said a Mankhurd police officer.

Based on the locals' statement, the police arrested Wazirkar.
