In a tribute, to mark the 150th anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore, first noble laureate from Asia, 24 students from Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) were felicitated. Students from across the country were awarded for their analysis and interpretation of the works of Tagore using the latest technology.
Organised by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, the awards were a culmination of the three month Tagore Mahotsav competition.
“In addition to paying tribute to Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore, the program helped bring the younger generation closer to Tagore’s creative genius and values,” said Avinash Dikshit, commissioner, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan.
The organisers announced the first-of-a-kind Tagore Mahotsav contest in December 2010. It was organised using ThinkQuest, an online protected learning platform that helped students develop important 21st century skills, including communication, critical thinking, and technology skills. Over 7000 students from 420 KVs across 18 regions participated in this unique initiative.
