Mumbai: With market and the employment scene showing little improvement, the year 2009 has been a challenge for youth looking for employment.

There was no hike in the salaries this year. Some companies took back benefits which used to add to the cost of the company (CTC).
Recruitments from banking sector were very low. Almost 20% of companies which put up requirements initially did not take the process further.

However, as per data available, 2,300students at IIPM have been placed on campus while the results of about 100 students post-campus interview are awaited.

Recruitments have already been done by over 750-plus companies in the current campus placement session. The average package so far has been Rs4.2 lakh per annum.
